Practice
Meditation, embodied awareness, sound, breath and contemplative inquiry formed the living roots of the work.
ABOUT RAHAO FOUNDATION
Rahao Foundation creates thoughtfully held spaces where people can slow down, feel what is present, reconnect with themselves and meet life with greater awareness. Our work brings together inner practice, embodied experience, human connection, nature and everyday living.
WHAT RAHAO IS
Rahao is not centred around one technique, one belief system or one kind of participant. It is a foundation for experiential wellbeing—supporting children, young people, adults, families, schools and organisations through retreats, courses, workshops, day programs and personal guidance.
Each experience is shaped with care for the people in the room. Meditation, breath, sound, movement, inquiry, nature, creative expression and reflective dialogue are woven together only where they genuinely serve the intention of the journey.
Rahao means pause. Not withdrawal. Not avoidance. A conscious interruption that allows us to listen, recognise and choose again.
HOW RAHAO BEGAN
Rahao grew from years of meditation, wellbeing practice, facilitation and a recurring observation: modern life gives people more ways to stay occupied, yet fewer spaces to slow down and listen inwardly.
The Foundation emerged as a response—not to offer another formula for self-improvement, but to create grounded experiences where people of different ages can reconnect with body, emotion, relationship, nature, meaning and the wisdom already present in ordinary life.
Meditation, embodied awareness, sound, breath and contemplative inquiry formed the living roots of the work.
Retreats, circles and shared experiences revealed the importance of belonging, listening and being witnessed.
Work with children, young people, parents and schools expanded Rahao into a School of Life for conscious human development.
THE WHOLE HUMAN
What we carry shows up in the body, emotions, relationships, choices, beliefs and sense of meaning. Rahao creates experiences where these dimensions are not separated from one another.
Grounding, breath, movement, rest, rhythm and sensory awareness help people return to the intelligence of the body.
Compassionate reflection makes room for feelings, patterns, needs, protective responses and the stories beneath them.
Sharing, listening, play, repair and community help us experience connection without losing ourselves.
Contemplative wisdom and lived inquiry support a deeper relationship with purpose, values, stillness and the sacred.
WHAT WE CREATE
Our programs vary in length, audience and intensity, while remaining rooted in presence, experience, compassionate connection and integration into daily life.
Residential and nature-based journeys that create distance from routine and space for deep rest, self-discovery, healing and community.

Connect →HOW THE WORK IS HELD
Rahao draws from contemplative, embodied, relational, creative and nature-based traditions. These are not presented as a checklist of activities. They are woven into a coherent journey according to age, context, readiness and purpose.
WHAT GUIDES US
People are invited to discover through direct experience rather than being told what they should feel or become.
Trust, consent, pacing and choice create the conditions in which honest inner work can unfold.
We begin by seeing and listening to the person, not by treating them as a problem to be fixed.
Practices are connected with ordinary choices, relationships and routines so insight can become a lived way of being.
SCOPE & RESPONSIBILITY
Trust grows when the purpose and limits of a space are communicated honestly. Rahao is a wellbeing and learning foundation, not a hospital, clinic or emergency service.
Suitability, accessibility and relevant health considerations are discussed before more intensive experiences.
THE PEOPLE BEHIND RAHAO
Rahao Foundation is led by Avneet Kaur and Jasjit Singh, whose complementary work brings together meditation, psychology-informed inquiry, sound, breath, body awareness, contemplative wisdom and many years of holding learning and healing spaces.
